Stop giving a fuck!

by Tara Fitness

There are far too many people in this world throwing stones from inside their glass houses. Judging and condemning people for being different because it’s easier to analyse others than analyse oneself. But this post isn’t about them; it’s for you.

You see, if you take the time to look, you’ll always find someone who hates you. Whether it’s for who you are, where you come from, the choices you make or even things you can’t control, like the colour of your skin.

No this isn’t a post about racism, but I want to use it as an example. Isn’t it interesting that every single human being on this planet has skin that protects us, that holds us together? But the skin which holds us together personally, is the same skin that tears us apart in community after community all around the world.

The one thing you can do is stop caring.

To clarify, I’m not saying stop caring about racism, homophobia, sexism, bullying and violence. I’m suggesting you make a conscious effort to stop caring about the people who perpetrate this inappropriate behaviour. More importantly, I’m recommending that, if you have people like this in your life, you show them the door.

Yes, I know that’s not easy to do. I don’t suggest you have a confrontation. In fact, you don’t even need to discuss it. Let’s be honest; if you create a confrontation, it’ll probably fall on deaf ears. You can’t force someone to change their views or their behaviour. You can only implement consequences. And the greatest power you have is over the relationships in your life.

So, if there are arrogant, disrespectful, rude or hateful people in your life…

Just … stop … calling.

Nobody deserves this hate!

Every human being on this earth deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.

While you can’t control the thoughts, feelings and actions of others, you do control the doors of your life. You know the door with a neon green exit sign atop it? You can ask anyone to leave at any time.

Doing so for the people who deserve it, is treating yourself with dignity and respect.
